HBO, Warner Media, is playing its part to encourage people for social distancing and staying safe during the COVID-19 crisis. The premium streaming company has decided to make a few top shows, movies and documentaries available for free to provide comfort for people staying at home.
Starting Friday, April 3, with the ‘Stay Home Box Office’ campaign, HBO is allowing 500 hours of programming streaming without any subscription on HBO NOW and HBO GO for a limited time. The offer includes 9 popular TV series as well as 10 docuseries and documentaries, and 20 movies aimed at family entertainment.
From the classic movies to the latest series, people can stream a bunch of entertaining content to get out of the quarantine loneliness.
The free entertainment treat from HBO include following TV Series:
The Sopranos – An American crime drama TV series created by David Chase that revolves around an Italian-American mafia struggling to manage his family and criminal life and confides his affairs to his psychiatrist.
Ballers – Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ballers is an American comedy TV drama created by Stephen Levinson, and the story revolves around a retired NFL player who decides to become a financial manager and helps his younger friend at NFL.
Silicon Valley – One of the HBO hit comedy show created by Mike Judge, John Altschuler, and Dave Krinsky. The story focuses on five young men who found a startup company in Silicon Valley.
Six Feet Under – An, Oscar-winning, American darkly comic TV drama created by Alan Ball. The story revolves around Nathaniel Fisher and his family – who get caught in conflict after Nathaniel dies.
Barry – Emmy-winning black comedy crime show involves a hitman from the Midwest who moves to LA to hit a theater actor who is having a relationship with the wife of a mobster.
Succession – An American comedy TV drama created by Jesse Armstrong. The story is about the Logan family known for controlling the biggest media and entertainment company in the world and turns around when their father steps down from the company.
True Blood – An American fantasy horror TV drama produced and created by Alan Ball. The story is on Southern Vampire Mysteries. Sookie, the main lead, can read people’s minds, and her life changes when the vampires in her town reveal their existence to the world.
Veep – An American political satire comedy TV series created by Armando Iannucci. The story is about a former senator Selina Meyer who gets an opportunity to serve as the Vice President of the U.S.
The Wire – An American crime series created by David Simon. The story is about detective James and his team, who investigate crimes and try their best to solve the bridge between drug kingpins and law enforcement agencies.
Most of the shows in the offering have already aired the final seasons so everyone can enjoy the complete shows (with all episodes) for free. Succession and Barry, however, are still airing new episodes.

Other than that, viewers can also enjoy free streaming of movies. With HBO’s initiative to let people entertain throughout the quarantine period with free streaming for much entertaining content, it will help the company to let more and more people know about HBO Max — which will give HBO Max a good headstart.
