How to Set-Up a Facebook Business Page?

A simple guide, with important tips and tricks for your Facebook Business Page Setup!

Setting up a Facebook Business Page is one of the easiest ways to capture your target audience’s attention and increase your brand’s reach. Currently, Facebook has approximately 2.8 billion monthly active users which makes it a significant platform to market your business. A Facebook business page is an online community that anyone can establish to engage with consumers and sell their products. In order for the business page to look more authentic, adding your offerings, locality and contact information is of paramount value.

It’s a fantastic way to market a business since Facebook is the world’s third most visited website and fifth-largest downloaded free-app. Moreover, on average, Facebook users spend 38 minutes per day using the platform, which means an opportunity of 266 minutes a week to capture user engagement! A wise business person would never want to let go of taking advantage of such a chance.

The best thing about a business page setup is that it hardly takes 5-10 minutes to have it all done. The process is straightforward and doesn’t require technical expertise.

Create a Personal Business Page

First things first, you need to have a personal Facebook account for your business page setup. According to Facebook’s algorithm, having your own account is important so you can be recorded as your page’s admin.

You can remove yourself as the page’s admin if needed once the business page has been created by using the Facebook Business Manager Account. Moreover, you can also run the business page solo after linking the personal account through Facebook Business Manager Account.

Remove Any Extra Admin Accounts

The next step to creating a Facebook business page is to ensure no other business is connected to your personal account. In case you are the admin of any other page, remove yourself from the position by assigning the role to someone else.

On your News Feed, click on Pages on the left menu. Choose the page for which you need to change the admin role. You’ll be redirected to the respective page. Next, click on Page Settings in the bottom left of the page, and go to Page Roles in the left column. Now, all that you need to do is enter the person’s name and assign the admin role to them. After this, click Edit next to your name, and select Remove.

Once the respective roles have been assigned and edited, click on Confirm. You’ll be asked to re-enter the password, and then it’s all done.

Download a Copy of Your Personal Data

When converting from a personal account into a business page, it is always recommended to download your Facebook data’s copy in case of any loss of information. Facebook provides the option to do so.

Log in with your personal account and go to Settings. Next, choose General Settings and click on Download a copy of your Facebook Data from the bottom of the page. Once you’ve selected this option, Facebook will automatically download all the data relevant to your personal account, and you’ll be safe from losing any critical information.

From Personal Account to Facebook Business Page

Now comes the final step, creating a Facebook page for your business. Facebook has significantly simplified this step because it facilitates you to convert one’s personal account into a business page.

All you need to do is sign in with the personal account, click here, and your account will be converted into a business page. Now, just choose the images and videos that you’d want to import to the business page from your personal Facebook account, and voila! You have yourself a Facebook page for your business!

From Personal Account Friends to Business Page Likes

The benefit of converting your personal account into your personal business page is that you don’t have to start from scratch to gain page Likes at the end of the process. Why? Because Facebook automatically converts your previous Friends List into the current business page’s Likes.

This option sets a foundation for the business page owner to start engaging with people and promoting their products and services . You can post the first creative post and have people engage on it. The next thing to do is to increase the reach of the page. You can easily do this by joining other pages. Try to interact with these pages, send the link of your page to different people. You can also use sponsored ads to promote your page.

Transferring the Ownership of Your Facebook Business Page

If you feel like you don’t want to control the business page, you even have the option to assign the task to someone else. Since the personal account no longer exists, you’ll have to transfer the ownership through the Facebook Business Manager Account.

Go to the Business Settings of the page and click on People. Now, choose +Add and enter the work email address of the person you want to transfer the ownership to. Select the role you’d like to assign them, and be sure to read the role’s description before doing so. Choose Admin Access and click on Next.

Now, choose the type of asset in the first column, and select the individual assets you want to add this person to in the second column. In the third column, toggle on each task you’d like to grant them. Or, toggle on admin access to allow them to manage the asset and perform all available tasks. You can add people to multiple assets on this screen by repeating the same step.

Moving on to the next step requires you to edit your role from Admin Access to Employee Access. Simply click Invite, and you are good to go.

Managing a Facebook Business Page

The process of setting up a Facebook page is easier than managing it. The actual accomplishment is to run a Facebook page successfully.

Executing a Facebook Page setup is extremely simple; it’s the aftermath that matters. You need to learn how to run the business page. You can start by updating your ‘Our Story’ in the about section by sharing your story. Here, you can give a detailed description of who you are, how you started the business, what kind of products/services you will provide and what is your intent or expectation from this business.

Posting engaging content is the way to go. You can post about anything, as long as it is relevant to the business. The goal should be to gain maximum page likes and engagement on the page’s content. How can you achieve that? By avoiding being too self-promotional and posting interesting content related to the current trends and issues. I’d suggest adding an element of quirkiness and smartness to the content, keeping in mind the nature of your business. You can also optimize the content for SEO through keyword research and then formulating smart captions, product descriptions, and page description. Moreover, try to use sponsored ads wherever possible and add a call to action – Page Like – to them.

Don’t forget to take advantage of the business page features that Facebook for Business has got to offer to you. Features such as carousel ads, page analytics, Facebook Shop, and adding a WhatsApp button, shop or call button, or even integrating a live chatbot can help to enhance the overall customer experience.

If you follow some of these steps as stated by us, you won’t just have a Facebook business page up and running, but will also have a commendable user reach in a matter of no time!
