iPhone 13 Pro vs. iPhone 14 Pro: Should You Upgrade?

Is upgrading to an iPhone 14 worth it?

iPhone 14 Pro is currently the new kid on the block. Apple dropped its latest arsenal in an event named “Far out.” iPhone 14 Pro is the iPhone 13 Pro’s successor and comes with exciting yet subtle updates such as an improved camera system, an updated chipset, and some software tweaks.

Buyers are now left with just one dilemma. Are the updates impressive enough to pay a hefty amount for the new iPhone? Is it wise to shift to an iPhone 14? Well, that depends on you and your preferences.

Still, it’s best to weigh out the pros and cons of each smartphone. Let’s compare the two and see if upgrading to an iPhone 14 is even worth it or not.

Upgrade to iPhone 14 Pro If…

You Want a Better Camera

It’s safe to say that the iPhone 14’s camera is a dream for those who love taking photos. The 48MP main wide camera is a big jump from iPhone 13’s 12MP. Apple has truly gone “Far Out” with this update.

iPhone 14 Pro also features a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 12MP telephoto lens with 3X zoom. As a result, helping users perfectly capture details. The new camera also has better autofocus, even allowing users to take sharp images in the dark.

And while we’re at it, we can’t fail to mention that the 48MP sensor is 65% larger than iPhone 13 Pro’s main camera.

You Like to Use Dynamic Island

The new notch and lock screen interface is probably one of the biggest updates Apple has made to its latest iPhone. Features like the Dynamic Island and Always-On display allow users to access controls while using other apps easily.

The updated notch space doubles as adaptive live widgets. It also features privacy indicators for the microphone and camera, even leaving space for the much-awaited comeback of the battery percentage display.

You Want a Bigger Battery

A bigger battery means more battery life which means more hours for you to watch videos and scroll through Instagram. Who wouldn’t want that?

The iPhone 14 Pro has a 3,200 mAh battery and up to 23 hours of video playback compared to the iPhone 13’s 22 hours. Even if it’s just a one-hour difference, it’s still something worth noting down.

The A16 Bionic Chip also adds to the iPhone 14 Pro’s better performance and efficiency.

Upgrade to iPhone 13 Pro If…

You Don’t Like The New Design

iPhone 14 Pro is a little bulky; there’s no denying that. It’s also slightly heavier than the iPhone 13 Pro. This is something that many people don’t like; they prefer sleek, back pocket-friendly smartphone designs instead.

So, if you feel like the iPhone 14 Pro lacks an ergonomic design, stick to the iPhone 13.

Some users may not even appreciate the Dynamic Island feature, finding it hard to learn how to use it. If that’s the case, it’s better not to spend a fortune upgrading to the new iPhone.

You Like Using the iPhone 13

Personal preference should always be your top priority. Don’t impulse buy the new iPhone just because everyone else is doing it, and you want to fit into the crowd.

If you think that the iPhone 13 Pro is working well for you, that’s great. It is an excellent phone and has some top-notch features. Plus, do you really want to go through the hassle of transferring your data to a new phone?

Keep these things in mind before you jump on the iPhone 14 Pro bandwagon.

iPhone 13 Pro vs. iPhone 14 Pro: Is It Worth It?

The iPhone 14 Pro is a great update to its predecessor. But apart from the camera, chip, and battery updates, there’s not much of a difference.

The prices of both phones are the same in the US, retailing at $999. In the UK, though, the iPhone 14 Pro is more expensive. It retails at £1,099, £150 more than the iPhone 13 Pro. So, I honestly don’t think there’s a good reason to spend that much in this current economy.

Of course, it’s a different story if your previous phone is no longer in working condition and/or you want to buy a new one. The new phone does look promising. So the choice is all yours!
