The Chinese tech company Xiaomi has plans to launch the successor of Redmi 8 in the first quarter of 2020. Redmi 9 is now part of the new smartphone leaks. According to the news by Android Authority, the upcoming Redmi device is power-packed with powerful processors and the strapping user experience. Along with Redmi 9, it is very much presumed Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 9 family.
Xiaomi global vice-president Manu Kumar Jain has revealed the impending launch of the new Redmi smartphones himself through Twitter. The teaser video in the tweet clearly shows that something is cooking and is coming really soon.
Redmi 9 expected features
The tweet does not give us clear clues regarding the specs of the new device, but keeping in mind the dates for Redmi 7 and Redmi 8 launches, Redmi 9 smartphone with 4GB of memory with 64GB built-in storage is expected.
The next generation Redmi 9 is said to be the smartphone for the masses packed with Media Tek G70 SoC, which appears to be targeted at low priced Android phones. Not much info about Redmi Note 9 is yet known.
Redmi 9 may have a 6.22-inch dot notch IPS display with a 1080 x 2340 resolution and 414 PPI reported by 91mobiles. Going back to the Redmi 8 series, the brand offered a 12 MP + 2 MP dual rear camera with a 12nm Snapdragon 439 processor in Redmi 8. Whereas the premium Redmi Note 8 Pro series delivered a 64 MP quad rear camera with an Helio G90T processor. We foresee slightly improved dual primary cameras of 13MP + 5MP with LED Flash and 8MP of front camera in Redmi 9.
The Redmi 9 phone will be running an Android 11 – MIUI 11 operating system out of the box. Support for 5G connectivity is not likely. Furthermore, it will be powered with a 5000mAh battery. It is expected to cost around an affordable $149 and is predicted to launch at the end of Q1 2020.
